Shrink Wrap Removal
King's Cove Marina will remove the shrink wrap from your boat just before it is launched. If you need to remove the shrink wrap before this time you may go do so, but please adhere to the following process. The disposal of shrink wrap that was not properly removed adds time for the Marina personnel, which delays the launching process.
If you did not have the Marina cover you boat last fall, you are responsible for the disasembly of the cover and its framing. A $25.00 charge will be assessed if these materials are placed in our dumpsters.
The shrink wrap is attached to the boat with a cord running around the waterline of the boat. The cord must be removed from the shrink wrap as the cord cannot be recycled. Begin by locating the cord and cut the shrink wrap around the boat to separate the cord.
The cords cannot be recycled with the shrink wrap and should be placed in the nearest dumpster
Starting near the stern of the boat, cut the shrink wrap lengthwise to the bow. This will separate the shrink wrap into two pieces that will fall to the ground on either side of the boat.
Roll up the two pieces of shrink wrap that are on either side of the boat. The shrink wrap will later go in the recycling bin.
Lower the vertical framing braces so that the horizontal brace rests on the boat.
Cut the cords that tie the framing to the bow rails.
Place the shrink wrap pieces and lumber under the boat, which will be picked up by the Marina.
